Bah.

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Well, I got home this morning around 5:45am with a clean bill of health. X-rays/EKG and blood work were all good. But I'm dizzy. Strange.
Going to take a few days off from running.

Well, I applied for the NYC Marathon. Hopefully, I will get in. I won't find out until early June. I think about running NYC all the time. Running the NYC marathon is supposed to be the ultimate experience.

On a more depressing note, I still haven't been feeling well. My dizziness has been increasing in both frequency and intensity. My doc has ordered me to go in for some routine blood work and a glucose tolerance test. Unfortunately, my dizziness was so bad yesterday I had to skip my long 12 mile run. Missing long runs in a big no no. I am planning to get the test done this weekend. I have to fast for 12 hours and then they draw blood a couple of times over a 3 hour period. I don't think I will be able to run the required 15 miles after such an ordeal.

I still have my spirits up that I will be able to make San Diego. If not, I better make NY.

No matter what is going on in my life there is one thing that I can be sure of. The thing I look forward to the most is a good long run. I am hoping everything goes well and I can start my scheduled training next week for the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 3rd. Why would I subject myself to such suffering again? Hey, maybe it's because I'm Catholic.
