Ho! Ho! Ho! I am currently working hard on this Saturday night. Needed a break as everything is starting to meld into one.

I didn't realize how expensive Christmas ornaments are. 100 bucks for some lights and glitter? Jeez.
I am going to Vegas for a few days, then flying to Austin, Texas with some friends for a few more. All my ex's are in Texas! Hee-Haw!

Everyone asks me, "How was the marathon?"
I have a two word response, "Life altering."
Enough said.

Dear David Gonzalez,
You are now part of history; part of the largest marathon ever run, on a most special weekend in the sport of running.

On Saturday, we mourned the loss of Ryan Shay, one of our youngest and brightest stars. On Sunday, the human spirit prevailed and ran again through the streets of New York.
We celebrate each of you and your achievements. We are proud to be the city where the world comes to run.

New York City and NYRR were proud to host a weekend of this magnitude and significance. We congratulate each of you for your part in the show.

Here are your unofficial results:
Finish time: 3:53:02
10K split: 0:53:50
Half-marathon split: 1:54:45
Overall place: 9328

Savor your victory. Enjoy your accomplishment, rest up, and then get back on the roads for more!

In awe of you,
Mary Wittenberg
Race Director, ING New York City Marathon

Well, I spent most of the day on the couch. My mind is a rush with the usual pre-marathon jitters. My stomach is still a little tender but hopefully hold up for at least 20 miles.

Congratulations to Hall, Ritz, and Sell on their amazing runs today during the Olympic trails.

A special prayer goes out to Ryan Shay who collapsed and died during this very same race. This is a sad and scary reminder, a marathon is NOT a joke.

Special thanks to everyone that has wished me well.

Mantras for this race include:
"Man up!"
"Never, ever, ever give up!"
"Pain is weakness leaving the body."
...and the most important...
"Marcus is out there."
