At work we hold dear the concept of COB, continuity of business. In this crazy age, should a power outage occur, network failure, or an entire building cease to exist, life must go on. Customers must still submit payments. Money and business still needs to be conducted even though the very creators of the system are no longer there.
This is actually a very valuable fact in life. Do you have a backup plan should disaster strike? How will you respond should something terrible occur?
I lost my credit card after ten long solid years. Every single one of my accounts and transactions from ebay to my electric bill are tied to this credit card. Don't worry, it was cancelled not 10 minutes after I realized it was long gone.
But now I find myself lost. How do I pay for groceries or pay for a gift or geez, pay for a Starbucks latte. Cash? Dear God NO!!!
Sadly, I couldn't register for the New York City Marathon today, the first day registration was opened to the public. A colleage and I believe the earlier you register the better the chance you have to get in. I don't have a credit card.
Be prepared for the worst my friends! Think and prepare!!!
